We will practice hiking, running and agility skills, discuss the importance of forest stewardship and supportive social dynamics of a “pack”, and much more! Mornings will start w/ movement games and drills, before heading out to a different trail each day. Afternoons will involve more roaming activities, and cooperative games/adventures. Every day will be different, incorporating engaging and inspiring activities from your trail mentors. The kids will be so excited to come home and tell you about their daily escapades!
8:30 - 9:00 am — Flexible morning check-in at Ren School
9:00 - 11:15 am — Warmups, dynamic stretching, drills - Forest Adventures on nearby trails
11:15 - 12:15 pm — Lunch at Ren School
12:15 - 3:30 pm — Cooperative games, more adventuring, & free play
3:30 - 4:00 pm — Return for afternoon pick-up
Yassine has decades of experience working with youth including those with developmental delays and physical differences, and holds a Bachelors of Science in Health Studies: Physical Activity/Exercise from Portland State University. He is a Wilderness First Responder and is certified in Adult/Child CPR, AED & Airway Management. Yassine currently coaches cross-country and movement classes at Renaissance School. He is truly passionate about sharing his love of the outdoors w/ youngsters. Yassine also has a daughter (Farah) that attends the camp and runs w/ the pack!

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be split up into smaller groups for skill breakdown according to age. Parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony at the Renaissance School on Friday at 3 p.m.
Become a member of the Wolfpack by getting into the forest this Spring Break. Build confidence, body awareness, and an appreciation of Portland’s unique access to the forests… all the while having fun! This Trail Skills camp will help children of all abilities develop their physical fitness, familiarize themselves with the trails and enhance their knowledge of the PNW habitat. The Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences will be our "Wolves Den" for the week, where we will have access to shelter, bathrooms, lunch, etc. as well as outdoor playground, basketball courts, etc. It is an ideal central location to many trails and parks!
